Privacy policy

This policy explains how HospitalBillData.com, operated by an Illinois limited liability company (the “Operator”), handles information. The Operator’s registered legal name and registered agent are on file with the Illinois Secretary of State and available on request via our contact page. We designed the site to be useful without collecting sensitive personal data.

What we publish

The pricing information on this site comes from hospitals’ public CMS price transparency files. It is institutional pricing data and does not contain patient information.

Information we collect from visitors

• Aggregate usage analytics via Google Analytics 4 (such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type) to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not collect your name, medical, or financial information.
• Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
• Search queries you enter, used to return results and improve search quality.

We do not ask you to create an account to browse, and we do not request medical or financial information.

Cookies and similar technologies

Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (or similar identifiers) to measure aggregate usage. Google AdSense and its third-party advertising partners may also set cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalized advertising. These providers process data under their own privacy policies (see Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses data). We have not yet deployed a consent-management banner; visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland can control advertising cookies via Google’s ad settings and their browser controls, and we are working to add region-appropriate consent tooling.

Advertising

This site does not currently display advertising. If advertising is introduced, third-party vendors — potentially including Google and its certified advertising partners — may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads. Where ads are personalized, these technologies may use your prior visits to this and other sites. You can learn about Google’s use of advertising data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Your choices and consent

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, where personalized advertising or non-essential cookies are used we will obtain consent through a recognized consent-management prompt before such technologies run, and you can change your choice at any time. Visitors in U.S. states with applicable privacy laws may opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
