Hospital Bill Data

About

An independent, source-backed hospital price resource

HospitalBillData.com makes hospitals' own published price files searchable and comparable, so people can ask better questions about the cost of care.

What we do

U.S. hospitals are required to publish their standard charges in a public file. Those files are large and hard to read. We collect them, line up the same service across hospitals by its billing code, and present the published cash, list, and negotiated figures side by side. Every number on a page traces back to a hospital’s own published price file.

What we are — and are not

  • We are an independent reference for hospital-published prices, with coverage that expands as more hospital files are verified.
  • We are not affiliated with CMS, any hospital, any insurer, or any government agency.
  • We do not give medical, legal, or financial advice, and we never predict your final bill — your actual cost depends on your insurance, the exact care, and the setting.

Our standards

We only show figures we can trace to a source file, we clearly label hospitals whose files we could read in full versus a sample, and we never invent or estimate prices. How we collect and check the data is described in our methodology and editorial policy.
