How we source, verify, and correct
Our content exists to help people understand hospital prices accurately. These standards keep it honest and independent.
Sourcing
Every price comes from a hospital’s own public price transparency file. We do not create, estimate, or adjust prices. Full details are in our methodology.
Verification & labeling
- We only display figures we can trace to a source file.
- We label whether a hospital’s file was read in full or as a sample.
- When a hospital lists a service but publishes no price, we show a blank — never a $0.
- We do not publish hand-built demo data on public pages.
Independence & advertising
Editorial content is independent of any advertising. Advertising, if and when shown, is clearly labeled and never influences which hospitals or prices appear or how they are ranked. We do not accept payment to alter, hide, or favor data. See our advertising policy.
No medical, legal, or financial advice
We are an information resource, not a provider of advice. We do not predict your final bill, and a lower published price does not mean a hospital is better or worse.
Corrections
If you believe a figure is wrong, email contact@hospitalbilldata.com with the hospital name and the page link. We review reports against the source file, fix confirmed errors promptly, and update the page. Because our data is regenerated from the hospitals’ files, a correction is reflected the next time the underlying file is processed.
